WILLIAMSBURG NORTHSIDE SCHOOLS PARENT ASSOCIATION DIVERSITY SCHOLARSHIP

PA DEFINITION FOR ELIGIBILITY ASSESSMENT
The concept of diversity is predicated on the full respect for, and acceptance and inclusion of, all families within the WNS community. It means appreciating that each individual student is unique, and all individual differences are openly recognized, understood and embraced.  These can be along the dimensions of race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, socio-economic status, and physical abilities.

In assessing eligibility for diversity scholarships for families at WNS, it is not the consideration of what is relatively “different” about a student and family, but more about what is more unique about them in an already multilaterally diverse community. This consideration takes place fully to support all differences in our school community alongside the provision of education to our children in a safe, welcoming, positive, nurturing, all-encompassing and inclusive environment.

DIVERSITY SCHOLARSHIP SELECTION CRITERIA
The following question is a guiding principle in reviewing applicants:

What makes the student(s) and family more unique?

physical abilities.
